Information About Mauritius

Mauritius is a tropical paradise located in the Indian Ocean off the East African Coast. It is located about 2,000 kilometers oof the east African Coast and have a shoreline of about 300 km. With about 150 kilometers of white sandy beaches, it is not difficult to see what Mauritius is one of the most beautiful islands on earth.

The climate in Mauritius is stunning and it basically only has 2 seasons, which are summer and winter. Summer stretches from November to April and with its tropical climate, the mean temperature is about 24.7 °C.

Winter on the other hand offers a great 20.4 °C, which entails, that you can spend your time here in winter and almost experience summer temperatures.

The population of Mauritius is estimated somewhere in the region of 1,265,000 people and has a multiethnic society, that includes Indians, Africans, and Europeans.

The annual tourist that visits Mauritius vary, but average around 1,400,000 visitors each year.  Mauritius is about 800 kilometers east of Madagascar and with about 600 indigenous plant species, it was also once home to the dodo, that became extinct in 1681.
